Support Staff Pay Offer for 2024/25

On 16 May the National Employers made full and final pay offers to the Staff Sides of the four negotiating groups for which they have responsibility (Local Government Services (Green Book), Craft Workers (Red Book), Chief Officers and Chief Executives.

The National Employers headline offer to the main Local Government Services NJC have made the following full and final, one-year offer from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 which is:

  • With effect from 1 April 2024, an increase of £1,290 (pro rata for part-time employees) to be paid as a consolidated, permanent addition on all NJC pay points 2 to 43 inclusive. The equivalent percentage increases on spinal column point 2 is 5.77%, and for SCP 43 it is 2.50%.
  • With effect from 1 April 2024, an increase of 2.50% on all pay points above the maximum of the pay spine but graded below deputy chief officer (in accordance with Green Book Part 2 Para 5.4).
  • With effect from 1 April 2024 an increase of 2.50% on all allowances (as listed in the 2023 NJC pay agreement circular dated 1 November 2023).

This offer will achieve a bottom rate of pay of £12.26 with effect from 1 April 2024 (which equates to a pay increase of 5.77% for employees on pay point 2).

    The government has announced they will be providing schools with additional funding of almost £1.2 billion in the financial year 2024/25 to support with overall costs. The funding has been calculated at national level to fund the 2024/25 teacher pay award and the support staff pay offer, which is still under negotiation. Almost £1.1 billion of the funding will be administered through the Core Schools Budget Grant (CSBG).
