Pay negotiations update: Local Government Services (Green Book)
The National Employers made an offer of 3.2% on all pay points and allowances as outlined in the employers’ circular issued on 24 April 2025. Each of the trade unions are balloting their members with a recommendation to reject the offer.
UNISON and GMB’s consultative ballot will run to 20 June 2025 (the dates for Unite’s ballot is still to be confirmed).

Pay review process: School teachers 2025

The Secretary of State for Education launched the 2025 teacher pay consultation, following the publication of the 35th STRB Report. The recommendation is to implement a pay award for school teachers and leaders of 4% from September.

National Heads of HR for academy trusts

Pay benchmarking: academy trusts

The National Heads of HR network undertook some pay benchmarking, for centrally employed staff at the beginning of 2025. Some headline findings have been placed onto the Employer Link website.
