Teaching members of the National Education Union (NEU) have voted overwhelmingly to accept the government’s pay offer of 6.5% and so will not be holding further strikes in the autumn term.

All four teaching unions recommended the pay offer to their members.  The Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) suspended a ballot on strike action after members voted in favour of accepting the government’s offer on teacher pay and funding for 2023-24.  A response to the pay offer is expected in the near future from both the National Association of Head Teachers (NAHT) and the National Association of Schoolmasters and Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT).
