On 28th March 2024 the Government launched a safeguarding call for evidence, seeking views on child safeguarding practice in schools and colleges to inform the Department for Education’s safeguarding in schools and colleges policy and future editions of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
The consultation is seeking views on a variety of topics, including:
- the role of designated safeguarding leads
- child safeguarding information
- safer staff recruitment
- filtering and monitoring
- supporting children following reports of sexual violence and harassment
- protecting children in boarding and residential special schools
- quality assuring safeguarding
- children bringing their own devices to schools
- artificial intelligence
